I used the quick selection tool to make my selection.
After I completed my selection, I used the refine edges to soften, then inverse the selection and cut.

I zoomed in on select areas and refined some of the edges using the magic wand, the magnetic lasso and polygonal lasso. I found a few areas that I had cut to much out, so I used the history brush tool to recover some of the area.
